Director of Engineering (110001Y3) Motorola Mobility in Linköping is one of the main development units in the world when it comes to designing and developing advanced IP-based set-top boxes.Our platform is called KreaTV and runs on a wide range of Motorola's various set-top boxes.

At Motorola Mobility, Mjärdevi site, we are now recruiting the Director of Engineering who will lead a talented team of ~200 engineers in several countries in the design, development, testing, and production of a family of consumer electronics devices. Engineering functions include systems engineering, hardware design, mechanical design, firmware and software design, and all levels of testing.

Responsibilities include:

• Work closely with Product Line Management in the planning of product road maps and project prioritization

• Utilizing leadership skills, ensure that all requirements, schedules, and cost targets are met, approved processes are followed, and final products meet quality expectations

• Leveraging the experience and insights of the development team, drive continuous refinement of processes to improve product quality and on-time delivery performance

• Communicate vision, plans, status, and opportunities for improvement to the team on a regular basis

• Actively communicate issues, status, and concerns to senior management in a professional and timely manner

• Support customer meetings to understand needs and concerns, and to provide technical expertise when appropriate

• Actively promote development of key personnel Qualifications and Skills Required

• BS in Engineering, MS preferred

• Significant experience in engineering management experience

• Strong leadership skills

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal); must be fluent in English and Swedish

• Responsiveness - must provide timely responses to all actions

• Ownership - must be willing and able to take ownership of all engineering responsibilities and tasks

• Motivation - must possess the ability to motivate others through actions and communications

• Decisiveness - must be capable of quickly assessing situations and taking decisive actions

• Agile Software Development - must have experience with the Agile software development methodology.
